Dwelling and Building Soft Wash

Soft wash is still considered a form of pressure washing, but you can think of it as a branch on the family tree. Soft washing is a low-pressure washing technique that uses a combination of soaps, SH and water to clean exterior surfaces, such as roofs, siding, fences, driveways and sidewalks, without damaging the surface. Soft washing revolutionized the roof and exterior cleaning industry by allowing more carefully metered chemical solutions to be applied to building surfaces for the benefit of cleaning that surface chemically without pressure. Because of that, in the last two decades, soft washing has become the most important change to the mobile exterior cleaning industry, since the downstream injector.

Soft washing is the only house washing method that is approved by siding manufacturers. If you read your warranty information, you'll see specific recommendations on how to clean your siding. Unfortunately, only some roof cleaning and house washing professionals use the soft washing method.

Pressure washing damage is a real problem that can void your siding warranty. It's always best to follow the manufacturer's recommended cleaning procedures just in case you need to file a claim. Even if your siding isn't under any type of warranty, you don't want to damage it.
